
Describe the failure precisely
Record location, frequency, lot history, build conditions and use sequence. A precise failure signature is more valuable than a broad label such as ‘bond problem’.
Map plausible mechanisms
Material compatibility, geometry, surface preparation, thermal history, residual stress, tooling and operator interactions should be ranked against available evidence.
Run discriminating experiments
Choose tests that produce different outcomes for competing hypotheses. Small, controlled experiments often resolve mechanisms faster than changing several process parameters at once.
